Mars helicopter first flight: Nasa to check Ingenuity

This small helicopter is about to be the primary to fly on one other planet.

Ingenuity is a 1.8kg (4lb) helicopter that travelled to Mars inside Nasa’s Perseverance rover, which landed in February 2021.

Nasa say it is now aiming to check it on Monday 19 April however admits it will not be profitable, during which case they’re going to strive once more later within the week.

Flying on the Purple Planet is not simple – as BBC science reporter Laura Foster and Nasa techniques engineer Farah Alibay clarify.
